July 8, 2024

Ryan Pyle is one very interesting dude!

We sat down in his West Hollywood studio recently for an engaging discussion about WWII, surfing history, China, work/life balance, basketball (including John Wooden), powder skiing, surfing in Heaven, wave pools, Ironman triathlons, Christianity, and a lot more.

If you can find a quiet place to listen (or watch) this Joe Rogan style of podcast
(2 hours and 7 minutes!), you are in for a treat.

Ryan first crossed my radar a few months ago as I was searching for a podcast that would allow me to promote my upcoming book, “Surfing in Heaven.” With over 30,000 subscribers, Ryan has built a serious following with his conversational-style podcasts (and YouTube) which offer more than just surface-level interviews; they dig deep into the lives and stories of his guests.

Visit Ryan’s website (ryanpyle.com), and you’ll discover a man of many accomplishments. His portfolio includes award-winning adventure documentaries and a myriad of impressive feats. Here are some highlights about Ryan:

  • Played Division 1 basketball for the University of Toronto.
  • After college, Ryan moved to China and lived there for 19 years.
  • Rode his motorcycle to the base camp of Mount Everest.
  • Set the Guinness World Record for the longest motorcycle ride in China.
  • Acclaimed as one of the top 30 emerging photographers globally, his still photography has been featured in prestigious publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek and Forbes.
  • Climbed three of the “Seven Summits” (the highest mountain peak on each continent): South America, Africa, and Europe.
  • And to top it off, Ryan Pyle has surfed at San Onofre!

Tune in for an engaging, thought-provoking conversation that goes far beyond the ordinary.
